Land of Nephi

Because many people skim along the surface, only long enough to pull the same scriptures as others, whose models they imitate, a variety of interpretations of verses is almost non-extant. This pattern repeats itself with the Land of Nephi being traditionally:

  • South of Zarahemla.
  • Synonymous with Lamanite Lands.

To dispel these notions, we will show:

  • There is more than one Land of Nephi.
  • Not all were south of Zarahemla.
  • Not all were synonymous with Lamanite Lands.

Is it important? In so far as understanding the geography, it's helpful. In so far as identifying land promises, no. If one locates the following points, then the Land of Nephi can be deduced:

  • West Sea
  • East Sea
  • River Sidon
  • Sea South

In short, the Lands of Nephi were south and west of the River Sidon (not only south of Zarahemla), between the West Sea and East Sea, without a sea south of it. (The Sea South was only south of the Jaredite Land Northward, a fact 99% of the modelers who recognize the Sea South have wrong. See H38-Virus)
